In the digital work "Transgenic Trauma", the body is approached as a "rhizome" space, which has lost its archetypal form and function because of the biotechnology and biopolitics which affect the nervous system, the reproduction, even the heredity as such. Thus, the body is transformed into a "common place" without historicity, in a continuous and often anxious quest to define its identity. At the same time, the body constitutes the personal "residence" of each one of us, the space where individual experience is stored, namely the one and only asset that differentiates people one from the other and from their surroundings. "...With me, inside me, I carry a subtle, vulnerable, liquid network where my past and my future are graved: acts, gestures, contacts, trials, hardships; prints of fear, hope, despair, desire, ecstasy..."
The digital work "Transgenic Trauma" is an anxious visual journey towards the interior of the human body. It is a nightmare where the mind shrinks in favor of the senses and intuitions. The work was created out of surgery material, using animation techniques and painting material.
